I have been scarred before, I will be scarred again - but I shall not be defeated.
The pain is miles behind
I no longer feel the pain. I have risen above it.

There is nothing docile about the Beast -- but I will not let them make me fear.

FlyingHelygen ran.
She ran and ran and ran.... but all the issues and the stink of the city - it chased her. Weighed her down until she thought she might scream.
She could feel it pulling on her like weights on her tail - or chains around her ankles.
The cat inside, that she usually took so much solace in.... could feel the burlap closing in from the pressure of the cold lake water outside the bag.

She dove into an ally gasping for breath she no longer needed and still felt as though all the air in the world was gone.

Her legs gave out and she ended up with her rear planted in some sort of squishy, fetid garbage. She took it as a sign of how b

I'm never good enough.

Papa wanted me to be a boy...... I'm not.
Hooo boy, did he ever go out of his way to let me know time and time again that I wasn't good enough - that I wasn't the seventh son he had been anticipating - that I wasn't worth Mother's death.

It was something I accepted at a young age -- I'd never be good enough for Papa to love - never even be good enough to not anger him whenever he saw me.
