Literature Text

She kissed him farewell  and watched him walk away from her. Her heart wanted to break the instant he was out of sight. It felt so wrong to send him away knowing that he would not be back in time for her to fall asleep on his chest where she belonged.

She tried to look on the more positive side. They had been separated only twice since they had moved in together. Once when they had fought - and the other when she had gone too far past her need to go out into the wild and had been forced to go off before he'd been ready to join her.

She was past that point again.... and she was sure that her agitation has been effecting him. It would be best for her to take another weekend in the country, but she did not want to go without him again - and he was still not ready. So, she had been holding on far longer than she should have - burying herself first in work, and then in the wedding. It was a stop gap solution at best.... and it probably had not been doing him any favors. Chances are, it was part of why he had been working so much lately - to better handle the strain she had been putting on him. Not fair to him.
And now, he was headed off for a difficult weekend that he couldn't even talk about - which meant it was sure to be full of trials that he would need her help to deal with.

She was going to be his wife soon.
She owed it to him to do her duty by him.
She could not be with him, but she could find in herself a bit of the strength he kept saying was inside her - that he would need on his journey.

She flew north, and west, until she found a large stretch of trees - big enough to be called a forest. And it wasn't even that far from the city. But... it was far enough.

At the edge of the treeline, the raven dove down and shifted at the last moment so that Helygen's bare feet landed on the paved road. She stepped from the shadows and walked to the information kiosk.

"I'm sorry Miss... but the park is closed after dark."
"Park?"
"Yes, state park. Harriman State Park......... Miss? Miss where are your shoes? Is everything alright? You shouldn't be out here alone at this hour. Where is your car? Miss, please, just stay there and I'll call you a cab. You need to go someplace safer so that you don't get attacked by any animals. It's dangerous here after dark."
"Perfect."
He turned to make the call, but when he turned back, there was only mist - as if the young woman had never been there.
Helygen the Gangrel deals with her true love that she's two points bound to - leaving for a weekend in Europe without her.
